In 2011, I finally picked up a GoPro HD Motorsports cam. I have made videos of trips in the past using my Canon SD300 - and it worked great, but I was always worried about it getting wet in the rain. The GoPro has a waterproof case and is built for this kinda stuff. I haven’t had a chance to do much with it yet, but here are a couple of quick videos I made just to get a feel for the camera:
In 960p - almost full HD, but using a bit of a ‘fish eye’ perspective:
In full 1080p - loses some viewing angle, but higher resolution.
These videos were taken from a handlebar mount pieced together using some Ram Mounts I had laying around. I have finally had a chance to put a mount on my helmet and give that a try. Here is the first sample:
