Antique Motorcycle Show 2007

The Owl’s Head Transportation Museum in Owl’s Head, ME is a terrific museum for anyone who likes classic cars, airplanes, motorcycle and other forms of transportation. Well worth your time if you have never been there.  I participated this year in their Antique Motorcycle Show by showing my 1986 Yamaha FJ1200. Just barely a classic at 21 years old, it is still a solid ride and I thoroughly enjoyed riding it there and back again.  It doesn’t have the smoothness or refinement of the newer (2004) FJR1300, it still ranks up there as one of the best sport / touring bikes in my book.  Here are some photos from the show.  Lot’s of really great old makes were shown there: I saw plenty of HD’s, Indians, BSA’s, Nortons, Hondas, Yamahas, Kawasakis, Suzukis, Moto Guzzis, and many more. There was also a cool air show going on at the same time featuring a number of bi-planes, a Fokker in Red Baron trim, a “mail plane” that snagged a mail bag in flight, and too much more to mention.  Enjoy the photos!
